Shopmobility is a service that provides mobility equipment for hire to members of the public who are unable to access local services because of a mobility impairment, whether it is temporary or permanent. They will normally have electric scooters and manual wheelchairs as a minimum, though power chairs may be available. This allows everyone to have access to services and facilities and helps to support local shops by encouraging people who would normally be unable to access them to visit.
Schemes are available up and down the Country and are affiliated to the National Federation of Shopmobility. However each scheme is individual so will have different joining instructions, fees and opening hours. Some towns will also have a few schemes, some connected to the town, and others to shopping centres.
To find other schemes, check out the National Federation of Shopmobility Website.
